Dear Summerfields,

We have been at places, stayed at many venues BUT NEVER did we experience such a high level of competent, helpfull and friendly staff. Your management and staff have set a standard which make it really difficult for me and my wife to be happy at other places we want to stay. I know that excellence starts at the top and I want to compliment you specifically Andre for running Summerfields so brilliantly. Not many owners can achieve that.

Justin and I both can't thank you enough for the incredible weekend we spent at Summerfields. It was exactly what the doctor ordered after the gruelling summer Justin spent playing cricket for Kent in the UK.

The hotel was all we expected and more and everyone went far beyond what we expected, thank you so so much for your hospitality, we really appreciated all that was done for us.

Can't wait to spread the word about Summerfields, Justin is thoroughly prepared for the season ahead with the Cobra's so expect good things from the Western Cape cricket team.

Ek kon nie vir 'n beter plek vra om verloof te raak. Julle is ongelooflik gasvry, vriendelik en bedagsaam, Dankie dat julle my wonderlike dag nog meer spesiaal gemaak het. Ek waardeer dit baie. Dra my dank aan almal wat bygedra het tot 'n wonderlike dag oor. My verloofde was baie beindruk.

Please convey our total satisfaction to all the staff and Management of Summerfield’s. We had an absolute BALL and have never received excellent and professional service like last weekend. Great stuff everybody and we will be back soon.

My wife and I travel often to different places in South Africa and we have never experienced the exceptional personalized service we received from the Summerfield staff. It was “fantastic” and we will certainly be back. Great stuff everybody.

Hi Andre,

we only had a short stay with you guys but had the most amazing experience, staff were excellent in every way possible, the accomodation and facilities were superb and the resturant produced possibly the best meal we have ever had.

We will definatly be back to stay for a proper vist next time we are in south africa.

Thanks so much for these beautiful pics, so glad you took some of the lunch area without the people, one tends to forget the finer details in all the excitement.

Zanzibar was awesome, just snorkeled and ate and snorkeled and ate, the most amazing sea life and beach, will definitely give it a second visit.

Could I just take this opportunity to thank you and your team for making our day such a memorable experience. It was sincerely the most perfect wedding from the time you hand delivered your brochure to the divine scrambled egg croissant I had for breakfast before we left, it was everything that we wished it would be. Your much appreciated help with the finer details, your friendly staff who were always on hand no matter how trivial the request, the incredible venue and the scrumptious food, I could go on and on. But most important of all the compliments we received from all our guests, they cannot stop talking about it and everyone has decided they need to re-affirm their vows on the banks of the Sabie!! To Anri who made me feel like a queen for a day and assuring me that having a disastrous spray tan was not the end of the world, you are an angel and a huge asset to Summerfields.

Josie, Kate and I are sure to visit again to enjoy the spa and pampering, till then hope you all keep well.

I would like to compliment the staff on their efficiency and the way the made us feel welcome. My husband and myself spent the weekend 28th-30th August 2009 at the lodge and the service and treatment we received was really exceptional. Please thank the following people for me:

David-For always being ready to assist and seeing to our well-being.

Master- for his efficiency and helpfulness.
Sharon and the beauty therapists for the wonderful treatments.
Johannes- for his friendly outlook and driving us to our destinations during our stay.

Dear Anri,

Hilda and I wish to thank you for the FANTASTIC afternoon we had at Summerfields last Wednesday, 22 July.
What a fantastic time we had under the capable hands of Bongi and Caroline.
The pampering was superb and we will surely be back!
We would like to comment on your spa's 'client service': not for a second were we left alone to wonder "where to now and what next" - we were attended to from our arrival right up to our car agian - FANTASTIC because we never felt like strangers!

Ag hemeltjie Anri, wat 'n blessing was die naweek nie vir ons nie!!!

Dit was die eerste keer dat ek by julle kon slaap - was darem al 'n paar keer daar vir 'n behandeling of twee by die spa en mos een keer my man se personeel gebring!!

Anri dra asb my waardering oor aan AL julle mense - van die sekuriteitswagte tot bo uit! Julle is die bes-opgeleide vriendelikste mense wat daar is! julle mense werk nie net omdat hulle moet nie, hulle is met die hand gekeur - kan ek sien! Hulle geniet nie net hulle werk nie, hulle maak 'n punt daarvan om die gaste persoonlik te dien! En dit was elke vrou wat die naweek daar was se opregte mening

Ek begin dadelik spaar om my man daarheen te bring! Baie dankie vir julle mooi gebaar met my blomme Vrydagaand vir my Anniversary!

Anri, ons kruieklub MOET eenvoudig ons jaarafsluiting by julle kom hou.

Summerfields Rose and Spa

Another wow factor and a brilliant end to our trip. We didn’t think that we would enjoy a spa hotel, and I didn't think that I would enjoy camping. However, this was amazing. Camping with a difference! Our tent was beautiful and so comfortable and pretty, roses absolutely everywhere. Such a peaceful and tranquil place with the Sabi River and the trees., very spiritual. All the staff made us so welcome and even though we were the only guests staying that night, we didn’t feel uncomfortable or intimidated there. As it is a spa there were people coming and going for spa treatments and the restaurant was also open to customers from outside so there were people around to make the place feel lived in. We both enjoyed spa treatments (even my husband who never indulges in anything like this). And when I was having a treatment my husband was shown all around the grounds and then left to relax. We were also shown where the roses are grown and how the macadamia nuts are prepared for export. This was heaven on earth and far too short a stay, we would have loved another night or longer. There are plenty of activities to do in this area as well, so always something to do. A fantastic and magical end to our amazing holiday!!!!

Namens my en Eugene wil ons julle net weereens bedank vir ‘n wonderlike naweek, dit was sowaar ‘n belegging in ons lewens gewees. Baie dankie vir julle vriendelikheid en behulpsaamheid en die goeie diens. Die kos was fantasties. ‘n Mens weet nie meer wat dit is om goeie diens te kry in ons land nie en daarom was dit voor ons so oorweldiggend om dit te beleef. Baie dankie daarvoor.

Ons bid net God se rykste seën op julle besigheid en dat julle net tot hoër hoogtes sal gaan en dat die besigheid tot groter suksesse sal gaan.

Weereens baie dankie vir ‘n rustige, genotvolle en wonderlike naweek.

What can I say about Summerfields except that it was an oasis, an undiscovered piece of heaven the only fault was that we didn't stay long enough. The staff were extremely attentive, the tented rooms on the river were sensational, with the roses being refreshed twice daily being the most beautiful finishing touch. The lodge was furnished to the utmost taste, the food was divine and our every whim was catered to.

Uit Minki Visser se blog op die Pasella webwerf:

Na die herrie oor die sogenaamde "naakfoto's" in die Marie Claire was dit tyd vir my om 'n paar dae te gaan ontspan in die natuur en die luuksheid te ervaar om my selfoon te kan afskakel. Toe ons vriend Dan de Villiers ons saamnooi na die Summerfields Lodge en Spa by Hazyview, kon ons nie vinnig genoeg in sy vliegtuig spring nie.

Summerfields is 'n juweel en vir roos liefhebbers 'n paradys. Die lodge is geleë op die walle van die Sabierivier, omring deur lowergroen bome en plante wat eie aan daardie omgewing is. Dit het baie gereën en die Sabie vloei sterk. Ek is seker daar is nie meer 'n dors dier in die Kruger Wildtuin nie!

Vir drie nagte was ons tuiste luukse tente langs die rivier en die eienaars het vir ons weer "bestel" waarvan enige besoeker maar net kan droom. Ons geselskap was die bruisende rivier, voëlgesang, Dan en sy vriendin Charis-Ann, my ouers en goeie leesstof.
Anri, Elna en hul personeel het die res gedoen om ons verblyf onvergeetlik te maak. Daar is ook seekoeie en krokodille, maar hulle het hulle skaars gehou.

Ons daaglikse roetine het bestaan uit 'n ontbyt op 'n grasperk langs die rivier, 'n heerlike bederf in die spa net om seker te maak ons skakel behoorlik af, luilekker lees langs die swembad, middagete weer op die grasperk, 'n kort middagslapie, drankies in die kroeg met sonsondergang, aandete in die restaurant en dan in die swembad baljaar tot laatnag. Die volmaan het Charis-Ann geïnspireer om op een aand 76 foto's van die maan te neem!

Diegene van julle wat nog nooit in die Laeveld was nie, skryf dit op jou "moet-besoek-lysie" voordat jy duur eksotiese bestemmings buite ons landsgrense besoek. Die plek is baie mooier as op foto's, het wonderlike toerisme bestemmings en van die vriendelikste mense ter wêreld.
Daarna het Pasella my weer behoorlik ingespan en het ek onder andere by die twee De Villiers sportsterre, Jean en Giniel, gaan kuier. Dit was vir my so lekker omdat ek altwee ken. Giniel is al jare deel van ons vriendekring. Beide is opregte en nederige mense.

Mense vra my dikwels hoe voel dit tussen al die "celebrities". Die ervaring verskil, maar ek hoop julle sal eendag die geleentheid kry om bogenoemde twee te ontmoet – hulle sterstatus is net beperk tot TV en koerante.

Die afgelope paar dae by Summerfields was beslis my en Herman se grootste bederf ooit. Die luukse tentkamer, die spa, die kos, die rose, die personeel, alles was ‘n onvergeetlike ervaring. Ek sukkel om vandag te begin werk, want my kop is nog by Summerfield. Jy met jou liewe, spontane en vriendelike geaardheid, het ons so welkom laat voel. Elna, die terapeute by die spa, Wouter, David en Trevor, die skoonmakers, julle is almal sterre en beslis ‘n groot aanwins vir ‘n meer as 5 ster paradys. Nogmaals baie dankie vir julle hartlike gasvryheid.

Dear Andre,

I would like to compliment you and your staff on a wonderful stay at Summerfields this past weekend. From the minute we arrived at the gate, we felt relaxed and welcome. From the guard at the gate to the cleaning staff, they are all friendly and I believe that you have a stunning team working for you. Wouter and Anrie met us at our vehicle and welcomed us, and then Wouter took us to the lodge. We were so surprised and overwhelmed with this fantastic service and have never experienced this before, we have been to many 5 star retreats but Summerfields are far better than the rest. We had David and Trevor as our butlers and they really looked after us the whole time, from explaining the lodge, looking after us at the bar and getting our bath rituals ready for us.....WOW.....and the food!!!!!! Delicious.....we wanted to try everything and kept Kennedy busy, he was so professional. Next time we will have to come for a week to get to do everything. We had some treatments at the spa.....wonderful......

We can’t stop talking about our experience at Summerfields to family, friends and co-workers. It is definitely number one on my list.
